Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is an essential qualification in future for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools of the Central / State governments / Local Self Government including Kendirya  Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidalayas. The test will be conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the guidelines framed by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) on behalf of CBSE. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) with the Central Board of Secondary Education.

 

All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each

carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of CTET.

 

(i)             Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.

 

(ii)           Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

 

Paper I consist of the following subjects each consisting of 30 questions with 1 mark for each answer:

(i)              Child Development and Pedagogy

 

(ii)            Language I

 

(iii)           Language III

 

(iv)          Mathematics

 

(v)            Environmental Studies

 

Paper II consist of the following

(i)              Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory)

 

 (ii)        Language I (compulsory)    

 

(ii)            Language II (compulsory)      

 

(iii)          (a) For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science     

 

               (b) For Social Studies / Social Science Teacher: Social Science

              

(c) For any other teacher either (a) or (b)
